Ever get the feeling nobody really listens to you? Ever want to just shake someone and yell, “Pay attention!”
I live in a board and care home, I have lived there since my breakdown last year. I don’t really fit the demographic, and yes, I know I was very lucky to be placed here because there really aren’t places for people like me, with mobility issues but not a senior. There’s a bit of a language barrier with the caregivers, but come on. I’m not 85, I still have my faculties, and the last time I checked I was pretty intelligent. Don’t pat me on the head and humor me, or crack jokes and think that will distract me.
A little respect, that would be nice.
